 U13’s & U14’s  Vs Ealing

On balmy Sunday morning and having found the right level of opposition, the u/13s and 14s gave the their best performance yet in a H& F shirt. Yes, the game was lost but only after Ealing had sent on some of their older and bigger u/14s. Up until that point  it had been nip and tuck. Showing huge commitment, no little skill and, in Charlie, outstanding running and jinking, they had more than matched Ealing. From a coach's point of view it was good to see not just safe and correct tackles being made but big hits - step forward Ilewa; a beautifully executed 2 on 1 by Edward which put Jack over for a try; strong leg-pumping drives by Gabriel and Humphrey. The basics of the game being done well! And when the Ealing big boys were on the 'they-shall-not-pass' defence in the corner was as good as it gets. However, let's not get carried away. The rucking was weak; the penalty count too high. Let's put these right against Hackney on Sunday. But the performance deserves more than to end on a downbeat note. I have named a few individuals but every single player was a star on the day.

Well done one and all.
